Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser, and your files never leave your device.

Is there a limit on files or size?

We don't set any limits. You can process several files at once; the maximum depends on your device's memory.

Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?

Because HEIC takes up about half the space of a JPG at similar quality, which saves space on your phone.

Is the photo's data (date, location) preserved?

The image is converted without that EXIF data, which also protects your privacy when you share it.

About this tool

HEIC is the format the iPhone has used since iOS 11 to save photos at a smaller size. The problem is that Windows, many websites and several programs can't open it, so it's worth converting them to JPG.

This tool decodes the HEIC on your device, so your personal photos aren't uploaded to any server. The first conversion may take a few seconds because the decoder has to load.

If you'd rather have your iPhone save in JPG from the start, go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose "Most Compatible."
