Printing, signing, scanning and sending back takes time and wastes paper. There's a faster way to sign a document: put your signature directly on the PDF.

Step by step

  1. Open Sign PDF and select your document.
  2. Draw your signature with your finger (on a phone) or with the mouse. You can also upload a photo of your signature written on white paper; the background is removed automatically.
  3. Click on the page where it should go. You can drag it and change its size.
  4. Download the signed PDF.

If the contract has several pages and you want to initial each one, turn on On all pages.

Is it legally valid?

It depends on the procedure. This signature is a digitized handwritten signature: it works for many private agreements, internal forms, liability waivers and permissions. It is not an advanced electronic signature or the SAT's e.firma; when a law or an institution requires those, you'll need the official mechanism. If in doubt, ask whoever will receive the document which type of signature they accept.

Protect your privacy

Contracts often contain personal data. That's why it's best to use tools that process the file on your device, like this one, instead of services that upload it to a server. In this guide we explain the risks.

Before and after signing

  • If you need to combine several files, use Merge PDF before signing.
  • For long case files, add page numbers.
  • If the document is a draft, a watermark avoids confusion with the final version.
