Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I upload?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, as long as your browser supports them.

Why doesn't a JPG have transparency?

The JPG format doesn't support transparency; when you convert to JPG, transparent areas are filled with white.

Are my images uploaded to any server?

No. The conversion happens on your device.

About this tool

WebP is usually much smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality, which makes it a good option for websites. JPG is the most compatible with any program, and PNG keeps transparency.

Reducing the maximum width (for example to 1920 px) cuts the file size of phone photos considerably.
